NeighborJ Posted February 28, 2019 Posted February 28, 2019 I wanted to share how I trim my rolls of gum tape to size. 1
dlking59 Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Good idea. Just what I need to cut my tape into more narrow rolls. Thanks 1
Col Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 Nice job. I would make a stand to clamp the drill in place to keep the tape straight and under even tension as its wound onto the takeup reel.
NeighborJ Posted March 4, 2019 Author Posted March 4, 2019 I had to change that so I could get everything in frame for filming. I switched hands so I wasn't in the way and the 3"roll is normally dragging against the wall so it doesn't keep spinning when I stop. I've been using this cuter for the last 2 years and find it's best if the drill is floating by hand so any inconsistencies are dampened. The first attempt used a riggid mount for the takeup reel and I tore a few strips off because I couldnt manually compensate for tension variations.
Col Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 I added resistance by sandwiching the roll between an aluminium plate and a 7" vinyl single 1
