Lot's of tubes are ready, 1lb and 8oz, but their wall thickness is only 3mm (or little under 1/8 of an inch). Will that be sufficient to make stingers, considering the erosion of the side holes and consequent loss of thrust? What kind of spindle and side hole diameter would you prefer for your stingers?In my opinion it would be nice if the fuel does not need to be superhot to get good performance. I know the proposal from the rocket tool scetcher of course, but it does not give a side vent diamater.Also the nozzle of 1/3 tube diameters doesnt seem very hot to me. I like wall thicknesses of roughly 1/4 to 1/3 the ID of the tube (i.e. 3/16" to 1/4" for a 3/4" bore, etc.). Try the 1/3 Dia. spindle and see how it works. Mine really move. I think the side port has more of an affect than the nozzle. A higher spin rate greatly aids the stability, and the bottom port is for upward thrust. It seems it's not too difficult to balance the two, but may take a bit of fine tuning on your particular tools, tubes and compositions. Gee, sounds like rocket science ! WSM

I decided to settle on a 6mm spindle with 2mm venthole-drilljig for a 19mm/1lb tool.The hole can be enlarged afterwards if necessary... These zippers are interesting too. I saw this arrangement - nozzle above the spindle - in some consumer fireworks, with dimensions similar like shown in Mixers thread. I'll try both ways. I'm locking forward to test this next year, when my trusted toolmaker has finished my new toys 1

Pretty much the exact same as what you show in that video. Good fun, not easy to get just right though. I'm going to scale it up to 1/2 ID and see what happens. I have an exact dimension drawing of those little zingers, if you're interested.
