SamGurdus Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I have heard of the two, and they seem to be often used in mines together, but I don't know the difference between the two. Anyone know the difference?
dagabu Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Generally, they are different effects, falling leaves are just that, a soft, fluttering effect. They should last for a good 10 seconds in the air. Flying fish is generally in reference to short sections of cannon fuse that may have different colors, sparks etc and as they burn, they are propelled in straight lines or circles, or all over the place! 2
OldMarine Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 They make a falling leaf fuse but it is a very boring effect. True falling leaves consist of a medium burn speed color comp pressed thinly between two layers of newsprint with only one edge or corner primed. They are cut into wedge shapes and glitter down like beautiful flaming leaves.
Sulphurstan Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) Dagabu. In your video, I was impressed of how many flying fishes they were... Are they made like go getters or another method? ( Because go-getter are taking much place in a shell). I used to load go getters in 2,5 canister shells, but hardly get 16 into it. The effect wasn't nice (not numerous enough) as seen in your video. Would appreciate some hints on how you build these cute little inserts.Shimizu has such a self propelled star method also... I'm a little confused on how to get the best effect...Also looks like they're shoot from a mine here? Edited November 18, 2018 by Sulphurstan
OldMarine Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 I have a bunch of crackling flying fish fuse I haven't tried in a mine yet but it's interesting stuff.
dagabu Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Stan, please read my reply, it's short sections of visco fuse.
Sulphurstan Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Ok, got it, didn't understand that these were used in the video (not English native speaker/reader 🤔 😅😅)
