Scorpion812 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 So, after not using it for the most part, I tried making some KClO4 by electrolysis of a KClO3 solution using my Ti substrate PbO2 anode. After a day or so, I started to notice a bit of shredding. I didn't have time to fix it so I went to school. When I came back home, a lot of PbO2 was laying on the bottom of the cell together with a bit of perc. My theory is that the KClO4 crystallized inside the anodes pores, thus breaking it up and making it shred. I aborted the run and cleaned up the anode. after drying, the damage is visible. Now, does this require replating? also, can I use the green crystalls of copper nitrate that get produced when making HNO3 the KNO3+HCl+Cu way? (of course with Pb(NO3)2 added)
memo Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 yes i saw that, i dont have any damage to my mmo looks like it did when i put it in
