lloyd Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 (edited) Wow! If you're in Florida, and you need any kind of 'barn roofing' or siding, you need to know this. A few of you already know that the sheets of roofing we received for the barn/shop hurricane repairs turned out to be rolled to 24-5/16" o.c., instead of the 'standard' 24". We were having a dickens of a time bowing and compressing sheets to fit with the existing material. After only about four exchanges with the president of "1st-Coast Metal Roofing Supply" in Palatka, FL, he offered to replace the ENTIRE 4800 sq.ft. order at no charge. And that's 4800 sq.ft. of 'coverage', with overlaps and eaves overhangs. It works out to about 5200 sq.ft. of material! They're even sending a rep out tomorrow (50-mile trip, each way) with a sample piece, to verify that it fits properly before they proceed to make the whole order! And they're even talking about Wednesday for delivery! Wow! I was impressed with them on my first order, but this sort of customer-service needs to be announced to the community whenever it happens. You don't find it very often! Lloyd Edited May 7, 2018 by lloyd
Baldor Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 This customer service should be standard, and is what I try to achieve in my job. Cheers to them. They will replace the material, but nobody will compensate you for the job already done and the delay.
lloyd Posted May 7, 2018 Author Posted May 7, 2018 Yeah, Baldor. But this quality of service is so rare today, that in large part, it's "its own reward". Yeah... we lost time. Yeah, I'd liked to have been done by now. But since most companies would have just "blown me off", I'm so impressed, I'm very happy! I, too, try to give such to my clients. They deserve it. They're the ones who pay my wage! But how rare it is, these days! Lloyd
