Christmas tree charcoal?

Do you think a regular Douglas fir or noble will be good for charcoal its a pine tree isn't it its nice an sappy i think ill give it a shot an let you all know what happens

It might work well for sparks but it sucks for BP. Here's a very good article from Danny Cregan on experiments he did with various charcoals. I've found them to be pretty well spot on:
