wizard7611 Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I noticed today after taking a trip to Menards that they no longer sell the pet bedding I use for charcoal. I looked to see what Petco sells and came across this pet bedding which is a blend of softwoods. Would this be a good choice?
OldMarine Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Walmart sells the cedar and pine shavings usually. I get mine there or at Tractor Supply.

starxplor Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Meijer (I avoid Walmart at all costs) sells the cedar bedding as well, I got it on sale a while back and haven't gone through the second huge bag yet.
OldMarine Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 I've used the Wallyworld stuff many times for coal and have been pleased with it. You can't outsource Eastern Red Cedar to China since it doesn't grow there!
vendrite Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 As far as pet bedding, I've found red cedar to be more reactive than pine made by the retort method. Good luck with it. Report back with your findings.
Wiley Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Walmart red cedar cooked in s TLUD is what I use. 1
