Hexamine gone bad?

Hey guys,

I opened my jar of hexamine to make some blue fountain mix this morning and it smelled like ammonia. I haven't had it open in a couple years and don't remember it smelling like that. Is that normal or has it gone bad?

If it's stored in a hot and damp area, some of it can breakdown into ammonia and formaldehyde(carcinogenic?). If it's not gone too bad, just air it out, outside of course, and keep it sealed, dark, cool, and dry.

My hexamine smells the same, but it does not interfere in the results in the compsnwhere i'm using it. Just very nasty smell!
