pipiso Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 (edited) Hi i am trying to make cannon that would shoot these rockets http://www.pyrozabava.cz/fotky10117/fotos/_vyrp12_366piskajici-raketky.jpg .I have about 0.5mm clearance between rocket and barrel ,see the photo. There is one problem, almost every time i shoot the rocket either leaves the barrel really slow and reaches about 2 meters or it explodes inside the barrel.Do you have any idea why it does that ?By the way I shoot vertically. pyrokid Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 The generic whistling bottle rockets that you linked are also assembled into "saturn missile batteries." A small charge of black powder is used to propel the rocket out of the launch tube and ignite the whistle fuel. There is so little fuel in the rocket that the black powder charge is required to accelerate the rocket and push it out of the launch tube. I'd experiment with paper launch tubes!
