Dear Friend:

 

Your mixture is simply too hot. All organic dyes tend to produce black smoke, when heated obove their decomposition temperatue.

Nevertheless i recommend als red dy the classic mixture of rhodamine (reddish purple) and auramine (yellow, tendency to orange).

Works quite well!
