Stars for mines vs shells?

I was just thinking this over and I doubt there's any difference but figured I should ask before I mix up some large batches. Is there anything different about making stars for mines versus shells? I have experience rolling larger stars for larger shells (8"+) but will be doing a bunch of 3 - 4" mines this year. For 3 - 4" shells I would use 3/8" (unprimed) stars, would it be the same size for mines? Do certain formulas work better than others (for example, Hardt's Sulfur Blue vs Shimizu's B-70 or even color vs glitter or KP vs KN based)? Should stars for mines be primed more or less heavily or about the same as a shell?

I use 3/8" stars in my 3" mines (except charcoal then I use 1/4") and up to 1/2" in 4" mines still under sizing the charcoal stars because all but the fastest burning tend to round trip and I hate putting out fires.

Yup, and even smaller stars if you want to try a strobe mine. 5/16" white strobe in a 3" mine tend to have a lot of them hit the ground. Proved that last evening!
