calebkessinger Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Oh.. I had to go look. YEEEEEP He said that was a two stage! Wup Wup! So the weight of the first motor is just added drag but when it fires at speed it'll go up quite dramatically. I wish I had better video of the 2 stage rockets I shot down at 4f. Stupid high. Without exaggeration I would say over a mile. I had a 6lb 2 stage red tipped rocket that floated along for what seemed like 20 seconds somewhere where airplanes fly. Darn heading never went off so It's hard to say how high it was. Had another 6lb strobe motor on the second stage that I could barely hear it was so high. man that was fun. 3
OldMarine Posted December 12, 2017 Posted December 12, 2017 Those are ½" rockets around a ¾" central one. I press 2 of the outer rockets with one less increment of fuel to insure they pass fire to the central one before the rocket loses any thrust do or doesn't tilt and go zipping sideways.I still need to put a couple on the test stand and see what they'll lift. I've launched 2 and I never saw then come down or splash in the lake so they were definitely up there. 1
