very nice the ls series is a great motor , but to me they lack that sound of the gen 1 sbc , if u wanna do something cheap and cool i can give u all the info u need on the gm 2.8/3.1/3.4 60* v6 engines , as this is my specialty

this car runs 10.60-10.90's now with a 3.1L v6 all stock except for cam , everything else is off the shelf parts except the head studs , u can get a complete motor for roughly 200-400$ , another 800$ in parts and it will haul ,, oh yeah still knocks down over 30mpg in a 3,300 pound car

they also sound really good , almost like an exotic

heres one from the launch side

i cant wait to actually build another to put in an s10 pickuphttp://i.imgur.com/Rdv6tAC.jpg

Got back from a hog cull. Working on the '65 Chevelle SS upholstery too. Waiting for some extruded charcoal stars to dry too. Busier in "retirement' than I thought. I guess pyros have many varied interests. Maybe just born curious about things in general... how stuff works.

very nice, we dont have hogs or pigs here but we have millions of jack rabbits , coyotes , and my personal fav caus ei can eat them is antelope , alf-alfa fed antelop tastes really good , just really hard to get close to them on the farm to shoot them , this one was between 550-600 yard shot, dropped it with a 7mm rem mag

we get roughly 12-15 depravation tags a year and it kinda sucks cause noone will take them to eat , and we dont have a choice but to shoot them cause the y do alot of damage to the crops

we have a heard of 33 on the farm right now but cant start shooting them till august 1st

heres a turbo kit i did on a 3.4L v6 even kept the ac

just south of central utah , and yup tuesday = bad time to be an antelope lol, We have tried to actually get ppl to come out and help witht he antelope but no one wants them ppl have offered to come out and shoot them but we would rather just do it ourselves so the dont go trampling our crops just to shoot one for fun., The church wont even take them to give out because of the liability

last year i took one , my buddy took one and his brother in law took one , so far this year just me and my buddy each want one to eat , id take more but i dont have enough storage

Aww...RiderX, wish I was there. I smoked the brown hog at our 4th of July party, saving the black piggy on ice, until labor day. We waste little here, except the tail & cloven hooves <grin>. I tread lightly anyway :;:;:;:;:;:

ebay , there are very good ebay turbos and there are junk ones , i can point u to the good ones if u ever need , the turbo on my v6 car was 129$ shipped , the 76mm on my z-28 was 300$ nut i also have a 675$ borg warner turbo for the camaro for the track to push it up over 1,000 hp at the tire

ive been using ebay turbos for about 12 years now and only had 1 failure and it was my fault for not checking the oil line on install

I do gunsmithing...

I made my own Remington 700 actions. One working, another one is complete, while I inlet existing stocks to fit them.

The working one I did without any broaching at all (I used end mills to get the raceway close, then file until it fits) while the other I had someone EDM them out. The EDM option is very expensive though...

nice work , closest ill get to something like that , is when i mill my 80% lower to put my 50 bmg upper on , which isnt near as hard as what ur doing lol

Well, the good news is nothing blew up yet. The 30-06 rifle (my first action) actually shoots a decent group. Considering how Khyber Pass they are, it's remarkably accurate. I plan on getting a lathe which will allow me to do better as far as completing an action and modifying existing barrels to fit the custom action. Milling 4140 steel really taxes the crap out of my mill and puts my skills to the test. Both actions were completed without a lathe.

By the way about bitcoin mining, how exactly does it work, and does it even profit at all? I notice you need a bunch of those little "computers" to mine, and each cost between 400-2000 dollars. What else do you need, a dedicated motherboard for each mining devices?

u dont need many machines necessarily it all depends on how much u wanna make

the most important thing u need to make money at mining bitcoins is cheap power i pay just under 4 cents per kwh ,

so lets take the bitmain s9 miner for an example since its the most efficiant miner out there

bitmain s9 cost = 1200$

as of right now the s9 will make you =12$ per day which = 100 days to get ur 1,200$ back

but now we need to figure pout the cost per day to run the thing

at 4 cents per kwh cost per day = 1.34

so 12$ - 1.34 = 10.66 cents it makes a day = 112.5 days to get ur money back before it turns a profit

at 10 cents per kwh ( which is the usa's avg power cost)

it costs 3.36 per day to run

so 12.00 - 3.36 = 8.64 per day

which now means it will take 132.88 days to make ur intial money back before it makes a profit

alls the machines need is power and internet to run , they have built in controllers and have no need to be hooked to a computer , each machine has its own webpage u can goto over ur lan to configure and check stats on each machine

thats just a quick basic rundown

It also sounds like we're assuming the relatively high exchange rate with bitcoins... which honestly has seen some serious bubbles.

I have my doubts honestly because I could spend thousands on mining hardware and BOOM, bitcoin value drops like a stone. It just seems like a gamble sometimes (may have better luck in Vegas)

i used the current exchange rate when i wrote that . expect bitcoing to go from 2,800$ to 3,300$ in the next 2-3 weeks

there is no bubble , price must climb along with the difficulty increases to keep mining going/profitable , we the miners set the price not the market like everyone thinks

price drops come from when ppl who invest a large amount of money into bitcoin decide to cash out and take there profit , also when big companys like bitmain sell a few thousand pieces of hardware and makes 1-2 million in bitcoins form the sales and sell the oins this also causes the drops, but it has always rebounded

ust recently we went form 2,850$ to 2,300$ smart ppl held onto there coins and waited for the rebound before selling. paniced ppl sold at 2,300$ and lost there money

ive been doing this for a long time now with bitcoin

#2 rule with bitcoin dont invest or spend more then u can afford to loose , it is a gamble but its proven to be a pretty safe one

Nice one, taiwanluthiers. It seems a lot of us like firearms and the related gunsmithing/reloading too. BTW, what stylus did you use? (I store my termite on top of my disco LPs✴)

Petey P What kind of tomatoes are you raising?

Mike, I'm raising heirlooms organically. Roma for sauce and Beefsteak for eating. I use the greenhouse in the winter for them. The greenhouse comes in handy for drying certain things (BP and non-photochemically sensitive comps) in the summer.
