usapyro Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 (edited) Decided to try another technique in making simple Sugar Rockets. I never had great success in the past. Sugar fuel is so finicky and pressure sensitive compared to BP. Edit: I.D. is 1". Been having great success with this design. It takes off with a serious roar! Anyone made sugar rockets like this? The only reason for the small outer nozzle is to increase late stage pressure and prevent the fuel flaking off during drilling. It's very easy to tune. All you do is adjust the length of the grain if you have CATO's from too much pressure. I have not had one fail yet though. I don't ball mill the powders, and I do not add red iron oxide. I just blend everything as fine as possible in a bullet blender. Powders are extremely dry as they are desiccated with CaCO. (Brand name "Dry-Z-Air") Edited June 16, 2017 by usapyro
