OldMarine Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Fireworking 201 will be on the pay side of FW and I've watched the first video. It'd be worth it to join if for no other reason than this video course and commentary. I'm still contemplating my first chromatrope from 101. The commentary is as good as the video. No, I'm not a paid spokesman! 1
chuckufarley Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 That chromatrope is pretty awesome. I think I liked the version without the small wheel in the center better. That black disk in the middle just seemed to highlight the effects nicely. 1

chuckufarley Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Now that is cool!! How would you make that shape though? Can't be just a normal wheel
OldMarine Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 That's my thinking Caleb. I've got lance comp for days from a previous escapade. Just gotta get the colors blended right. I had a sodium yellow that went liquid on me so I'll have to try something else. 'Sperimentin'!
jac00256 Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 I found the FW101 set of videos to be very helpful while just starting out to make these fireworking devices. They answered a lot of questions I had about the hobby; where to start, what tools did I need, the basics about how things are done in the FW industry. They also helped answer questions I didn't know to ask; how and why gerbs may be fused and linked together to ignite at the same time for example. Most importantly, they explained, how to make these FW devices as safely as possible, as well as what not to do. I don't want to try making something in the wrong way only to find out how dangerous my methods were the hard way. I don't need to make every mistake myself. My thanks to Ned Gorski for making these videos.
lloyd Posted March 15, 2017 Posted March 15, 2017 Ned now offers both FW-101 and FW-201 for sale on flash drives in his site's store. They come at their full native resolution, rather than the reduce resolution of many of them on YouTube. Lloyd 1
