kleberrios Posted September 17, 2016 Author Posted September 17, 2016 What cause the drop hammers to rotate upon retraction? Can you post video of the machine itself? Fascinating stuff!Hi Old.This machine that I projected already mill about 200 ton of firework stuff : Mg, iron, FeTi, Ti turning, Ti sponje, Ti hidride, Al, cooper, Magnalium 5050, Magnalium 7030... each hammer= 100kg. the hammer never needs sharpening, does not break, hardly worn, very low maintenance. However may not have residences in a radius of 100 meters because of vibration. I installed it right in the middle. And I have two quad pestle. see this crazy machine rsrsrs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfe1zG4IOTQ

OldMarine Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 I'd like to know as well. Those look interesting.
MrB Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Took me long enough to google an answer to what these tools might be named... Anyway, here:http://www.monumenttools.com/web_images/72dpi_min500pix_A/MON1066.JPG"Round gulley grab" or just "Gulley grab" seams to be what they call em "over there". (English speaking world)Try a similar image search for your local names, i don't even think they have a name here in Sweden, but almost every hardware store, and garden shack has em.B!
OldMarine Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) Looking at them it seems they open as you push on them and close upon retrieval. That could be very handy in my trade of plumbing! I can't find a comparable product here in the US so I may have to make one. Edited September 20, 2016 by OldMarine
