pudidotdk Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 We don't modify fireworks, we make them ourself. If you have to use commercial firework and can't make your own I don't think this forum is a place for you.
Umphrey Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 We don't modify fireworks, we make them ourself. If you have to use commercial firework and can't make your own I don't think this forum is a place for you.I agree for the most part, but it depends on the level of modification. To completely cut open a fountain is both counter productive and potentially dangerous, as you can't be sure of the fountain's composition--it could be sensitive or prone to auto ignition when you re-ram your new fountain. But there are exceptions, such as using the cheap chinese cracker balls for dragon egg cores, or re-fusing several commericial fireworks together for a continous show. Both of these are, in the strictest sense, modifications. Moreover, dismantling certain firework items can be quite educational. I bet a great deal of people have taken apart several types of commericial firework. Albeit this isn't with the express intent of modifying them, it's to see how it is constructed. In short, it can't really be considered anything but the crudest form of pyrotechny if ALL you do is bastardize consumer fireworks to make some ad hoc recreation of the same device.
pudidotdk Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 I agree with you as well. In this idea with the rocket it is slightly okay but making sparkler fountains by using only sparklers and opening shells to use the powder aren't facts that i like.As you also point out, modifying fireworks and only using fireworks isn't homemade fireworks, as a lot of l33t s think (I've seen a lot on YouTube)
al93535 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 This forum is not about modifying fireworks. This is a crap topic, you should have posted this in the random thread. Not many people here are interested in opening class C fireworks, and adding a stick. Locked.
