Asaster420 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Could someone tell me how to edit within a post one posted? Thank you.
OldMarine Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Hover your mouse near the quote Icon at the bottom and the edit function should appear to the left.
Mumbles Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 When you make a post, toward the bottom right corner there is a button that says "edit". It's near the quote, MultiQuote, and report buttons as well. I will note there is a time limit, after which this option disappears for everyone but moderators. It is currently set at 24hr. This is to prevent members from changing controversial posts, editing facts during an arguement/discussion, or trying to backtrack on something significantly after the fact. It also prevents members from getting upset, rage quitting, and trying to delete all of their posts leaving the forum fragmented and depleted. 2
OldMarine Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I wish to God Ned had that function on FW. Some putz went through and deleted all of his posts so Ned and Rob eliminated the edit option. It really sucks.
Asaster420 Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the info. Not sure what options I might gain in full mode, on phone. I know I still saw no edit function in full mode earlier but the 24 hrs could have been up Ok it was just me not clicking. The edit button is in all modes. Thanks again guys. memo Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I am really glad for the edit, the way I spell I need it memo
Mumbles Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Me too, I couldn't live without editing ability. What I'd really like to be able to do is allow members to have unlimited editing time in places like the Agora and some other places for some projects I have on the backburner. That's not possible unfortunately, or at least not straight forward.
OldMarine Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 (edited) If you edit a post, does the clock reset? Edited July 22, 2016 by OldMarine
Mumbles Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Nope. 24hr after the original post as far as I know, though I've never checked. I hope it's not a surprise to know I am not held to the same time limit.

What!? How UNFAIR! I bet you can even edit others posts as well!I demand equal rights, or... or... Um... Yeah, come to think of it, this demanding shit, and equal rights aren't all they are said to be. In this case, i think i can deal with it.And, if i have an old post that really needs editing... I'll just have you do it ;- )B!
