memo Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 getting ready to roll my first batch of stars, when making your toro have you ever added 1% cmc to help keep everything in suspension the comp will have 20% ti memo
OldMarine Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 It doesn't slow the burn down any as far as I can tell using it in my BP slurry.
Maserface Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 I haven't ever added any extra binders (except what the formula called for) in toro. I give the slurry a quick whip before I pour it on. A thicker slurry might be needed to keep everything consistent though. My experience is limited though, I've only rolled 50-60 pounds of stars, and they were all color stars (hence no concern of large particles falling out of suspension).
memo Posted July 20, 2016 Author Posted July 20, 2016 got the first and second session in on the star roller, used peppercorns this time because i thought it would be easier. next batch will be mustard seed. had a few probems to start, lots of people say to have a very thin slurry to start..... not for me. i made the slurry thick and everything worked a lot better. don't have any photos , i am very happywith way it turned out today. more in the morning. memo
