Yus Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 1) I am looking for the compositions of microstars, which produce white flashes without sound.See video below from 15 to 20 second. Could you give some compositions of them? 2) What is the best cracking compositions with titanium powder for BP fountains? Thank you.
Mixer Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 The flashes you refer to in that section probably aren`t micro-stars. This should get you close... Winokur #10Potassium Nitrate 35Barium Nitrate 20Sulfur 17Aluminium, (atom, spher, 120-325 mesh, 20 micron) 14Charcoal Airfloat 10Dextrin 4
grimreefer24601 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Any answers on actual micro stars for gerb usage? I can make a blue torch that shoots sparks, but my family asks if I can make the sparks colored? I would think this would be accomplished with very small stars. Or even Dragon Eggs. Can anyone point me to information about that?
OldMarine Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Crackling microstars make a great gerb. These are tiny Dragon's Eggs and are actually a pain in the patootie to get working right. Though the stars are great, you have to tone down your BP to keep from burning them up in the tube. I've had a love/hate relationship with that iteration of crackle.
grimreefer24601 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Do you have a formula, OldMarine? Or is there a Dragon Egg tutorial that I can scale down? Have you done this? Really, I want to know how?
OldMarine Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 (edited) To be honest, I've not looked for it here since it was in the article section of FW. It's damned simple. PM Lloyd and I think he'll get you straight. Edited August 21, 2016 by OldMarine
grimreefer24601 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Thanks OldMarine. And very much thank you to Lloyd for a quick response. I can't try this tonight, but I think it really good information. Lloyd suggested I could share it in this thread.http://www.pyrobin.com/files/Bismuth%20Crackle%20w-notes%20by%20Ned%20G.pdf
OldMarine Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Thanks to Lloyd! I won't share without permission and it's better read from the hand that wrote it originally.
schroedinger Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) Use the search function and search for the "Time Rain" thread, it contains all you need. Edited August 22, 2016 by schroedinger
