*Does anyone know Allen's full name? I have formulas stored for Allen Bauer, Allen Conti, Allen Clark, Allen Jackson, Allen Lang, etc. but this one just says "Allen".

I've always been under the general impression the Allen in question is Allen F. Clark. This is the same person of Clark's Giant Steel Fountain notoriety. Tenney Davis lists several formulas attributed to Allen F. Clark in Chemistry of Powder and Explosives. You may want to comb through and see if there are any matches. Ellern or Hardt may also have matches or information.

There was another person active a while ago on rec.pyrotechnics and rec.explosives going by the name Alengosvig that could be another possibility. I interacted with him a bit back in my early days in the hobby, and on a few other forums.
