Gold plated anode

Can a gold plated anode work for perchlorates ?

I read gold is not enough... has to be platinum

No gold doesn't work for perchlorate or chlorate, but it should be fine for coating lead dioxide onto it.

I was thinking also if platinum can be also plated (as gold can be plated) from chloroplatinic acid (platinum + aqua regia) or from platinum(IV) Chloride

 

Heating H2PtCl6 gives PtCl4.

H2PtCl6 → PtCl4 + 2 HCl
