taiwanluthiers Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 I read gold is not enough... has to be platinum
schroedinger Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 No gold doesn't work for perchlorate or chlorate, but it should be fine for coating lead dioxide onto it.
THEONE Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 I was thinking also if platinum can be also plated (as gold can be plated) from chloroplatinic acid (platinum + aqua regia) or from platinum(IV) Chloride Heating H2PtCl6 gives PtCl4.H2PtCl6 → PtCl4 + 2 HCl
