Col Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Four petals doesnt seem enough for a 4" shell. The paper will have to do a lot of stretching, i use 6 petals for 3".edit: just saw it was 100mm "radius" so 4 will be ok The cookie cutter may need 13 tonnes on it if the die cutter i use is anything to go by. ivars21 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I created web based app: http://pyrodata.com/hemis.php, can someone confirm that I have not messed up dimensions?
Col Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 The outer ring should be curved rather than straight and the petals are too deep. Should look more like this
ivars21 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Well, I just translated that .jar code posted. Let me see what I can do with that python code, my python knowledge is shit though.
ivars21 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) http://pyrodata.com/hemis.phpNow also includes web version of the code from first post. Edited February 5, 2016 by ivars21
Col Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 looks a lot better but the petals are still a bit deep.
ivars21 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 If you increase overlap, it looks very similar to what you posted. I won't claim I fully understand how pattern is generated, all I did was adopted already existing code.
Col Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Might be worth printing off a few to compare, that should give you the ballpark overlap value to use. Here`s an 86mm (4") with 4 petals
MrB Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 http://pyrodata.com/hemis.phpNow also includes web version of the code from first post. It looks pretty ok to me. I'm going to make a bunch of templates, and save for the future. Not quite as good as having a stored "app" that does it for you with different sizes, but close enough.Thank you for the effort.B!
Col Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 you can use them all http://www.amateurpyro.com/forums/files/file/113-hemi-printing-templatezip/
