Nickmaslo Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Hey everyone, It has been a pretty long time since I have posted on here. I have been diligently researching and participating on Fireworking.com as well as learned from all those great guys over there. (Sorry Mumbles, I missed ya too lol ) Just wanted to post some of my recent shells for critique and hopefully a learning experience ! Thanks - Nick PS: These are ALL Cylinder Shells. Andres1511 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I'm a ball shell builder, so I can't say much on your cilinder shells. They look nice, especially your timing is really good.About the ball shells: I think you're not breaking them hard enough. The breaks are all pretty small, and the stars drop a lot before they burn out. My 2" shells break as big as your 3". This can be your preference, but I would break them harder. You'll also get more symmetrical break. But keep up the good work ! Your blue is really awesome (Shimizu Blue) I'm jealous. Also, what camera do you use ?
Nickmaslo Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Thank you for the kind words Andres. I am still progressing - I have only been fireworking for 3 months. The ball shells are a work in progress, I started with cylinder shells and kinda skipped over ball shells for a while. Those are my first attempts at some so I still have a lot to learn. I think my pasting is wrong as well as the light breaks. I am going to continue to research before I try again. I have a lot of Spanish Booster coated rice hulls that I can use as a booster to really bust those things wide open - thank you for the advice! I just used my Galaxy Tab Pro but the camera got auto-lockd on some kind of weird focus and mak it all blurry - I have since worked out why and hope to post some of my newest projects soon.
dynomike1 Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I think the canister shells looked good, Usually i don't see that good of breaks in them.
Nickmaslo Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Thanks Dyno, I usually add a few grams of some Spanish Booster Coated Rice Hulls throughout the break and use really hot ERC BP in the 3-4FA size. Also when I stack or place stars, I make sure that the center of the top and the bottom layer is also filled with stars to make the break even.
