jrin0630 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Wanted to pose this question and solicit some feedback....I was thinking of screening X percent of whistle mix (7/3- Potassium Perch/Sodium Benzoate) into the meal powder prior to making MCRH. ( I mention whistle because that is my preferred booster, however 7/3 flash could probably be used as well). So the final MCRH would be meal + whistle combined. I realize this method would be less flexible than adding X grams of whistle separately to individual shells, but I was wondering if the final MCRH would be more consistent and provide a more even burn to break the shell. Has anyone ever done this before? Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated...
Mumbles Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 This is somewhat familiar to the concept of benzolift. It's basically whistle mix cut with either black powder or green meal to take it. I suspect the whistle and BP idea would work. I'm not sure on the ratios though. My gut says you'd need to mix more booster into the BP if they're integrated, as opposed to just dusting or coating the surface of the meal coated hulls. I'd be more hesitant to mix flake Al with nitrate in something that is going to be wet to prevent any possibilities of a reaction. 1
