gregh Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) Yay! We made it up here. I am extremely excited to get out there, however, the wife wants to rest for a few minutes in the hotel after the long trip. Aaggghhhh. Hopefully, we will get some good pictures and videos from the event to share. Edited September 25, 2015 by gregh
gregh Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 What a great night of fireworks and fun. Tomorrow should be even better.
Mumbles Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Hope you guys are having a good time. I was really hoping to make it, but have been sick all week.
rogeryermaw Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Sorry you've been under the weather, Mumbles. Hope you're well soon! Greg I bet there have been some spectacular works of art this weekend. Hope we will see some video. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and be safe!
gregh Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 I am sorry you weren't feeling well, Mumbles. I knew you had said you were planning on going and was looking forward to meeting you. I did get to spend most of the day yesterday with Ned and his wife. They were extremely gracious hosts and even fed and watered the wife and I. I apologize to everyone because I did not take videos. I was too much like a kid on Christmas morning to even contemplate filming. I know several people were taping the shows, and the shells in open shooting. Ned taught a class earlier in the day on reinfiscature, a method of cylinder shell making that is papered and spiked twice, instead of spiked and pasted. The advantage is that you don't have to wait for the shell to dry. He constructed a 4" lampare and then shot it. That was very loud and made a huge fireball. There was no shortage of lamps and salutes this weekend. Caleb made some killer lamps too. They seriously rattled my guts!
