TheGandalf Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Hello there. I started making my own parlon firework stars. I just need a hot primer recipe that does not contain KCLO4 / potassium perchlorate. Is there anyone here who can help me? Greetings Morten // TheGandalf
dynomike1 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I use fence post on everything, never had a problem.
rogeryermaw Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 (edited) Fencepost is a good one. You can also put 5-6% silicon in screen mixed black powder. That should light most comps reliably. Since your stars are parlon bound, you may wish to bind your prime with dextrin/water, whichever prime you choose, to avoid leaching acetone soluble components of your prime into the stars. It's usually minimal but it does happen and can ruin things like crackle stars. Edited September 26, 2015 by rogeryermaw
Andres1511 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Straight meal with 10% fine MgAl lights everything for me. MgAl 230 mesh.
Sparx88 Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Meal with 15% dark aluminum first then a layer of meal and granulated 50-50.
