Hot means fast burning. Usually in reference to homemade black powder

That girl wearing the bikini is really hot! That BP I made is really hot!

Both of these are a good thing! :-)

Rockets blowing up from fuel being to hot is a bad thing!

Other things blowing up on the launch pad are also a bad thing. :-)

Ballmilled BP is much hotter than hand-mixed. There's your example :)

Assuming that you are asking about black powder, then the type of charcoal used plays the main role in how fast or "hot" the fuel is.

One example being paulownia, there are many others like black willow, cedar and even newspaper.

Another way to look at it is: "That girl wearing the bikini is really hot! - That hot girl wearing the bikini just slapped me across the face" = CATO!! :)

No probs blackthumb. I've previously read one of your threads regarding claims, whoops sorry, I meant success using newspaper - that's why I included it. :) I was thinking of saying "Apparently some deluded individuals use newspaper and believe it actually works" but I didn't have the heart. tee hee.

Just fooling around - Using Newspaper is on my list of things to try. What sort of yield are you getting? ie. pre/post cooked.
