ddewees Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I love Fireworking too, but like you said, there are jewels here that you don't get over there. (like Mumbles coming unglued on people... ) Kewl Jewls... I heard Wild Cherry was over there... 1
TYRONEEZEKIEL Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I feel that there are ways besides a $40 paywall to eliminate kewls. I resent being asked to pay to participate in a discussion forum. The $40 isnt simply a paywall. The articles and formulas are so incredibly detailed and well made. Its no different than paying money for books to learn from, or netflix for enjoyment. My fireworking abilities grew through the roof simply because of what I had experienced there. The $40 just also so happens to weed out k3wls by nature.
MrB Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 The $40 just also so happens to weed out k3wls by nature. And then some, such is the nature of a pay-wall.It's not better, or worse, just different.B!

PyroRob Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Just a word of caution, when choosing a mortar make sure it is a fairly close fit. If the tube is too large the gasses from the lift charge may pass around the shell and cause a low burst or flower pot, either way I wouldn't want to be too close when that happens! I try to construct my shells to fit the mortar, as close as rubbing the sides to 1/8 in, max. distance from the sides. Anyway try to be safe and make sure you have time to be out of harms way. Rob

wizard7611 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 When making shells, use a caliper to keep track of the diameter of them. It helps!
tradami Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 If you think $40 a YEAR is too expensive for you, you're in the wrong hobby. 2
