Arthur Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I've just granulated something simply and left it out to dry for a couple of days while it's pleasantly warm here. It felt dry, so I put it somewhere warm. Including a flimsy plastic bowl it weighed 331g. After 24 hours in a slightly warmer place it's down to 300g -that's a LOT of water that was still there after it felt dry. Never underestimate the time and heat needed to reach true dryness. I'm wondering whether there will be further losses, or whether it has finally dried to constant weight.
Rocketier Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 That's always the question indeed. Therefor I always put silicagelbags in the containers/bags with stars, compoos or ready made devices. I costs next to nothing but saves your stuff for being ruined.
memo Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 thats why i am building a dry box, some days it is in the 90's with medium humidity , other days it rains all day. most days it rains at night. i think things are dry after a few days. but not really. a dry box with a humidity meter will help a bunch. i quit smoking so i tore apart my humidor. has a nice meter for the humidity. so on with the build i go. memo
