insutama Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Would there be a issue using not enough grinding media to grind up some aluminum with stainless steel grinding media ?
insutama Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 I only have 25 1/2" balls just wanna make sure I'm not wasting my time I only want to grind up 20 grams of aluminum and maybe try a small amount of magnesium I made a brick bunker outside in my back yard hooked up to a timer so if anything I would be well away from it also I would wait a couple hrs after the timer stops and when I'm opening it I will wear my welding jacket a thick welding glove with a tinted face sheild. Anyone know if using this little media would still work in my harbour freight ball mill
Arthur Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 As long as there are two or more layers of balls when the drum is in the running position it will mill, three layers will be better (more -more so). My understanding is that the prime hazard is fire on opening the jar.
