DeAdFX Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 Name of composition: DeadFX's Barium GreenComposition Type:Colored flame/Colored sparklerCreator:Me, DeadFXColor/Effect: Green flame w/ sparks depending on metalThe Composition: (in parts) Green Compisition #1Potassium Perchlorate 2.0Hexamine 1.5Barium Nitrate 5.5Metallic powder* 1.5Polyvinyl Chloride 1.5 *Metallic powder can be anything like Aluminum, Magnesium, Magnalium or Titanium. I have tested Magnesium and Aluminum and Magnesium produces a better green. Any Precautions/Incompatabilities/extras:Nitrate/metal reduction (formation of ammonia). Barium is toxic so be careful not to breathe in to much. I believe that is it. Precedure/Preparation: Screen chemicals if necessary. Mix fuels together and crush any lumps. Mix oxidizers and carbonates and crush any lumps. Mix the fuels and oxidizers together and add your favorite binder or use the Polyvinyl Chloride as the binder. I haven't tried binding these compisitions yet but I assume around 4% dextrin would be acceptable. HERE IS A VIDEO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe18gJkj-jo
Mumbles Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 You do mean Barium nitrate, and the effect is green flame w/ sparks depending on metal, right?
DeAdFX Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 Yeah I spazed out The green formula is pretty much the same as my red one but witha little extra pvc and potassium perchlorate... fixing that right now
