gregh Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 (edited) Is anybody going this year? We went last year and it was amazing! (other than dealing with six complaining kids for five hours of the airshow before the fireworks...) Actually the airshow was awesome as well. The Blue Angels rocked the place. This year however, the FAA has declined to approve the air box this year, so the Thunderbird's show has been scrapped. This was just handed down last Friday, two weeks before the show. Now they are only approved for a two plane flyby... The real attraction is of course the largest annual fireworks in the hemisphere. We sat on the riverbank right in front of one of the barge groups. Here is a video my daughter took on her phone of the last few minutes of the show. It was set to a musical soundtrack, although it cannot be heard in the video. The artistic part of the show is basically over and the last minute or so is overwhelming skypuke. I am not saying that as a bad thing, it was the most intense thing I have ever witnessed! braddsn Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Wow man....... that must have been some experience!! I can't imagine the amount of comp.... LOL
gregh Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 60 tons is what they claim for this year. That would put a serious strain on my ball mill...
calebkessinger Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I went a couple years back. all day in the wet and cold sure put a damper on the fun... clouds were low so the airshow was less than stellar. The fireworks were great but... we were too close to the howitzers !!! man that hurt.. It was fun for me... but with little crying kids it kinda sucked the fun out of it.
Livingston Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 My star roller would be done after 6 hours!!! Geez!! Tat show was intense freaking love those crossettes!!!!
