braddsn Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Just want some opinions on this. The prime I am using is a 2 step system, KP hot prime first, followed by a bp+mgal mix on top. My question is about the BP+MgAl step. The formula just calls for lift-grade bp + 5% MgAl. Well, I also added 5% silicon, and 5% Diatomaceous earth. Being that silicon is also a metal, am I wasting time/money putting the silicon in there since there is already MgAl in it? And what do you think about the DE? I would think it could only help, plus I have a 50 pound bag of it. Thanks in advance.
pex Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 If the bp mgal prime works. You don't have to put extra silicon in the prime. Just use silicon ore mgal. Pex 1
Carbon796 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I use scratch mixed BP + 3% Mg/Al + 3% SGRS. For my final prime. The silicon and DE probably aren't really needed . . .
