fight fire with fire Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 I was just wondering what films you like and what are your favourite ones, mine are propbally V for Vendetta and From Hell. I would be suprised if now one has seen V For Vendetta, from hell is aboot jack the ripper (awesome film).
h0lx Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Scarface is good, Fear and loathing in Las Vegas is brilliant...
optimus Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Another vote for fear and loathing : ) Vanishing point is also worth a watch.
Mumbles Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 My favorite movie is this B-horror movie called People Under the Stairs. I don't know why, but I just love it. It's on HBO from time to time. I do like V for Vendetta too though. Lucky Number Slevin is also up there.
hst45 Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 How appropriate to talk about Fear and Loathing today; Feb. 20 is the second anniversary of the death of Hunter Thompson. I've read and re-read FLLV at least a dozen time (Jesus, I live a boring life!). His last known wish was to be cremated and have his ashes shot out of a cannon. In a memorial service six months after his death his ashes were launched over his fortified compound in areal shells. He was truly one of us, and he is missed. Pulp Fiction is great, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail is tremendously funny.
h0lx Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 How could I forget Pulp fiction is beyond me, so another vote for it.
ewest Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 My favorite is and always will be the original Star Wars. Before that, there was only bad special effects and crappy sci-fi stuff, then when Star Wars came out it was unlike anything seen before. It really set the bar for every sci-fi movie since then. Plus, who wouldn't want a Wookie?
fight fire with fire Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Thats one bad motherfucker! Royale with cheese, i love pulp fiction. Have you seen reservoir dogs its another tarantino, its pretty grim though, they chop a pigs ear off.

RUUUUUN Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 We Were Soldiers is probably my most favoritist movie.
Mumbles Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Theres another movie called Formula 51 or 51st State (depending on your area of the world) that I really liked. It was pretty funny, somewhat chemistry based, had some nice action scenes. It's about Samuel L Jackson as a drug pharmacist who developed a new super drug.
optimus Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Forgot to mention, but 'Dead Mans Shoes' is another really great movie. trailer here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/dea...sshoes/trailer/ Watch it!
fight fire with fire Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 I thought we were soldiers was pretty crap, if you want Vietnam film you should watch Platoon, or Apocalypse Now, I preferred Platoon, it's shorter, harder and more powerful. If you like psycological films, creepy films and films about mad people Apocalypse Now's cool, but it's 3 hours long. This isn't really a film but the young ones is bloody funny, they only did 12 episodes though. Henry
ewest Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 This isn't really a film but the young ones is bloody funny, they only did 12 episodes though. "Neil! Your bedroom's on fire!"
fight fire with fire Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Have you seen the episode sick were there all sick, Vivian throws a molotov of cocktail at rick and blows his bedroom up then Neil starts saying that you really cleared my nose. Then he start sneezing and sprays his snot fifty feet so they put a bin bag over his head and do accupunture with 6 inch nails
Mardec Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 My favorite movie is since I was young and until this day, Independence day. Hard story and heroism. I like. Also V for vendetta, lock stock.., snatch, 51 state was pretty good. You are all going to laugh at me, but I once saw Doom the movie and it wasn't all that bad.. Most shocking movie I ever saw: The Island. You can really see the true side of human beings in here. Me Me Me and fuck the rest.. Apocalipse now and Platoon are crap in my opinion.. if I want to see a movie about drugs I will go and see Trainspotting or Requiem for a dream. If I want a Vietnam movie I want blood and shit. Not some lame ass soldiers kicking back on opium.. Ong bak wasn't too bad. Nice fighting scenes. Could go on for like 5 hours but I am gonna quit here EDIT: how could I forget, Equilibrium does deserve a honorable mentioning!!
h0lx Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Now that you mention it, equilibrium is THE MOVIE for me(fave)
DeAdFX Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 October sky was surprisingly good. If it wasn't for that movie I wouldn't be posting here...
RUUUUUN Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I've seen platoon, the reason I like We Were Soldiers is because it really happened on Nov. 14-16 1965, And the guy gets hit face burned off with Willy Peter
AprenticeChemist Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 . This isn't really a film but the young ones is bloody funny, they only did 12 episodes though. Henry Young ones are awesome as hell. They played it on BBC a few times when I had BBC so I got a few of em recorded. Favorite movies lets see Saving Private Ryan, Monty Pythons Holy Grail, Pulp Fiction, ORIGINAL Star wars trilogy Return of the Jedi Being the best one, Happy Gilmore, Pink Floyd the WALL(best if smoking a little weed haha), Theres a few more but I can't think of em most of mine are comedies.
treelover Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 if I want to see a movie about drugs I will go and see Trainspotting or Requiem for a dream.Requim for a dream wasn't really about drugs I think. More about dream being torn apart. I liked trainspotting and requim for a dream very much, the sadness, the hopelessness..... really took hold of me (and of course both had kick-ass soundtracks). The butterfly effect creeped me out pretty much too. The Godfather (I-III) also deserves to be mentioned here. Furthermore: Donnie DarkoApocalypse now ("The horror")Das Boot (German, but it's really worth it)Fear and loathing in Las VegasA beatifull mind Good Will huntingThe truman show (Only Jim Carrey movie I don't dispise)Pulp fictionAll monty python moviesFight Club Not really a movie, but I just totally love Southpark, especially cartman. It's so fucking sarcastic.
Rogue Chemist Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Has noone seen repligator? Its about a machine that turns men into women, and then into aligators and then gay zombies. Its another C-grade sci-fi movie. Its hilarious.Either that or 'V for vendetta' is best. An internet review for repligator"I am watching this as I write. I am a great fan of B-grade sci-fi movies. If you are not like me, avoid this like the plague. The acting is not quite as bad as your average porno, and the nudity is gratuitous. The question of having a load of military men transformed into nymphomaniac women that lust after their formerly co-gendered colleagues caused a bit of mental squeamishness. And then there's that "From Dusk To Dawn"-esque plot twist at the halfway point: "She experienced a prehistoric orgasm that stretched her genetic code. Now we have Gator-Babe". Pure genius." Its so useless its funny
Mumbles Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I may have to check that one out rogue. That sounds absolutly hilarious.
ITCHI Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I'm a huge James Bond fan from way back. Other than that it's action thrillers for me.
