taiwanluthiers Posted September 13, 2014 Share Posted September 13, 2014 No, I tried burning smokeless a long time ago unconfined, burns about as well as celluloid (ping pong balls). It only burns fast when confined. Bp works for low confinement situation because it burns fairly fast without confinement, I think this is why ATF classify it as explosive (smokeless is classified as flammable solid but not explosive). The thing about smokeless is that under confinement, it can achieve pressure far higher than bp which is why all modern firearm uses it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
